Multidisciplinary Treatment Concept in Brain Trauma - An Unique Program

The NTSC-Vienna is a globally unique program which emphasizes the importance of multidisciplinary treatment concepts in brain trauma.

6 medical experts from 5 prestigious medical institutions located in or near Vienna have come together and created a curriculum for a 5-day course on how to shift neurotrauma treatment from the shortterm focus to a long-term perspective with the aim to improve patient’s quality of life after brain trauma.

Every year 6 countries will be invited to participate with a multidisciplinary team consisting of critical care specialists, neurosurgeons, neurologists and rehabilitation experts. The goal is to develop an in-depth understanding about the importance of teamwork, communication and therapeutic goal setting. Many professions are working together in a team to take care of one specific patient and to improve the outcome of patients with TBI.

Participants will be asked to develop implementation projects in their countries, reaching out to their medical communities and replace the singular short-term focus to the multidisciplinary long-term focus TBI patients need to recover fully and to be re-integrated into the workplace and social environments once again.
