Neurotrauma Treatment Simulation Center (NTSC)
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is one of the world’s leading causes of injury-related death and disability, with a devastating impact on patients and their families.
Over 70 million people suffer from TBI annually. While the mortality rate is as high as 40% in the more severely affected patients, survivors experience a substantial burden of physical, psychiatric, emotional and cognitive disabilities.
Despite the high global burden, there are hardly any pharmaceutical companies that are actively engaged in research or support educational programs of medical societies aimed at improving the care of neurotraumas.
In this regard, EVER Pharma has taken a pioneering role and is working with the Academy of Multidisciplinary Neurotraumatology (AMN) not only to raise awareness of the need for multidisciplinary treatment of neurotraumas, but also to support the development of visionary training programs.
What is the NTSC – Vienna
The Neurotrauma Treatment Simulation Center (NTSC) – Vienna is a training program developed by four leading healthcare institutions from Vienna. It covers all treatment stations of a neurotrauma patient, from the intensive care unit to the rehabilitation facility with specialized competencies in treating neurotrauma.
The NTSC – Vienna is a five-day training program that focuses on the development of a multidisciplinary teamwork with emphasize of the importance of this approach.
The AMN invites six country delegations, each consisting of three different specialists for the treatment of neurotraumas. It is a highly interactive program with many simulation trainings, practical experience exchange and team building activities. At the end of the training program, the participating country teams present their implementation plans for the next five years.
EVER Pharma is proud to support this highly innovative program and would like to thank from the bottom of our hearts the Austrian institutions that make this program possible and the experts who developed this program.
